2014 Crystal Kite Award winners for Canada announced

The Crystal Kite Awards are given by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) each year to recognize great books from 15 regional SCBWI divisions around the world. Astonishingly, the SCBWI Crystal Kite Awards are the only peer-awarded recognition in children's publishing world-wide.  It is a highly respected award, the winners having been chosen by other children’s book writers and illustrators.

2014 Red Cedar Award winners announced today

British Columbia children in Grades 4 through 7 have read and voted for their favourite titles among the Fiction nominees and Information Book nominees for 2013/2014. This morning, the Red Cedar Awards announced the winners.  Here on CanLit for LittleCanadians I am pleased to announce the winners in each category.

2014 BC Book Prizes' winners announced

On Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Government House in Victoria,  the West Coast Book Prize Society announced the winners of the 2014 BC Book Prizes.  Of the seven categories, two are specific to youngCanLit: the awards for Children's Literature and for Illustrated Children's Literature.
