2018 Governor General's Literary Awards: Finalists announced


Yesterday, the Canada Council for the Arts announced the finalists for the highly prestigious Governor General's Literary Awards.

The seven categories of books, both in French and English, for which awards are given are:
  • Fiction
  • Non-Fiction
  • Poetry
  • Young People's Literature (Text)
  • Young People's Literature (Illustration)
  • Drama
  • Translation

BC Book Prizes: 2017 finalists announced


On March 7th, the West Coast Book Prize Society announced the finalists for the 2017 BC Book Prizes. Prizes will be awarded in the following seven categories:
  • Fiction 
  • Non-Fiction 
  • Poetry 
  • Regional 
  • Children's Literature 
  • Illustrated Children's Literature 
  • Booksellers' Choice 

There is also the 

  • Lieutenant Governor's Award for Literary Excellence.

2016 Governor General's Literary Awards: Winners announced



The Governor General's Literary Awards are Canada's national book awards, honouring the best of our literature in seven categories, in both official languages.  On October 25, 2016, the winners of the 2016 Governor General's Literary Awards, English and French, were announced on the Canada Council website.

2016 Atlantic Book Awards shortlists of nominated titles announced


Yesterday, the Atlantic Book Awards Society announced the shortlists of nominated titles for its various book prizes.  Winners of the 2016 Atlantic Book Awards will be announced at a gala at Moncton’s historic Capitol Theatre on April 27, 2016.

This year, there are twelve Atlantic Book Awards that will be presented:
