2015 Rocky Mountain Book Award nominees

The following 20 books, for readers in Grades 4 through 7, are the basis for Alberta's readers' choice program. The books, which must have been published in the last two years in Canada, include both fiction and non-fiction titles which "portray a broad range of family, social, and cultural backgrounds." Reading has been taking place since November, and voting by young readers will occur from mid-March to mid-April. The winner of this readers' choice award will be announced April 22, 2015.

2014 Rocky Mountain Book Award winner announced!

Last July the nominees for the 2013-2014 Rocky Mountain Book Award were announced here. From November to April, Alberta's students in Grades 4 through 7 were invited to read the twenty nominated fiction and non-fiction titles, selected from the previous two years publications. Voting took place from mid-March to mid-April, and votes tabulated. Voting results are posted at http://rmba.lethsd.ab.ca/ The winner was announced on April 17 via the Rocky Mountain Book Award Facebook page here.

The time-line for this book award is as follows:

Shortlist of twenty titles: announced officially in November;
Reading: takes place from November to April;
Voting by young readers: takes place from mid-March to mid-April;
Winner: announced at the end of April.

The 2013-2014 nominees are:
