Here are the winners of the 2019 Willow Awards, also known as the Saskatchewan Young Readers' Choice Awards. The finalists were announced in the spring of 2019 and young readers selected their favourites this year.

2020 USBBY Outstanding International Books List

Each year, the United States Board of Books for Young People (USBBY) compiles its Outstanding International Books List of books that, while published or distributed in the U.S., originated or were first published outside of the USA. These books "deemed most outstanding of those published" in the previous year are assessed on:

• artistic and literary merit;
• originality or creativity of approach;
• distinctiveness of topic;
• uniqueness of origin; and
• qualities that engage and appeal to children.

Not surprisingly, a number of Canadian books have earned this honour.

2019 Canadian Children's Book Centre Book Awards: (English-language) Winners announced

Last night the winners of English-language Canadian Children's Book Centre Book Awards were announced at a gala in Toronto.  MCed by Kim's Convenience Appa, actor Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, the event celebrated an auspicious collection of titles by Canadian authors and illustrators, all worthy nominees, selected by hard-working juries. Congratulations to all nominated authors and illustrators and, of course, especially to those winners of these awards. (The French-language awards will be presented on November 7th in Montreal.)
